I have been cleaning the bottoms of drawers. Scraping gold-flecked scented liner paper out of old bathroom drawers. My hands smell of old cosmetics, circa 1950. And other people's toothpaste. Ugh.

soundhive came over for tea, yesterday. It's not a home until you've made lots of proper noise, she says. It's funny, how we nest. For me it's all about scent.

I will be glad when I'm done and it all just smells like home here.
